2019 is going to be a great year for IA!
At our last Council meeting (19 January 2019) we've made some plans to improve our Guild Life! These start by learning from our 2018 progress.
Not achieving AOTC with Uldir
The last Council meeting took time to explore why we didn't achieve Ahead Of The Curve for G'Huun. That enormous slug with his host of orbs and worms never made it into our sights!
The problem?
Due a number of unforeseen events, we had a smaller (than usual) number of our regular raiders who were able to commit the time across November and December. We needed regular attenders to learn and master the critical elements of the mechanics. So by mid-December, we knew it wasn't going to be within our grasp as a Guild.
Knowing that Ahead Of The Curve: G'huun was not something within our team's grasp, we encouraged our experienced raiders to seek out other raiding teams in order to obtain the individual achievement. The dwindling number of raiders who could maintain the required level of commitment, meant that those remaining raiders were not enough even attempt to master the orb mechanic.
The solution!
To overcome that, we intend to recruit more members into our Guild!
To bolster our core team, we are looking to recruit more raiders into our Guild, with some focused advertising on Blizzard Forums. You can find that recruitment in two Blizzard Forums:
- Oceanic Guild Recruitment (https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/a-lf-heals-rdps-gundrak-fri-sat-8-10-30pm-svt-gmt-11-00-uldir-7-8h/77689)
- Gundrak and Jube'Thos (https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/a-lf-heals-rdps-gundrak-fri-sat-8-10-30pm-svt-gmt-11-00-uldir-7-8h/77689)
We're looking for a Monk or Paladin Healer and a couple of ranged DPS (a Mage and a Hunter) as we want to round out our team composition and support our ability to master the mechanics that are just about to challenge us. If you know someone who is looking for a new home, why not suggest that they contact wither the GM (Faythe), the Raid Leader (Emrald) or the Deputy Raid Leader (Anen).
Changing technologies
With changing technology options, our IA FaceBook group pulled the readership away from our Website; now, Discord appears to have taken over where FaceBook has declined.
The problem?
With less traffic via the website, it may be necessary to move our efforts onto the communication platform that best suits our needs. Rather than paying for the premium website, it may be time for us to change the priority of our efforts to maintain communication with our Guild Membership.
The solution!
The GM has paid for the premium Guild Launch website until 14 April 2019 and opened up a Contribution Page, for members to contribute toward the cost of maintaining the IA Website at its current configuration. If there is not enough contributions by the 14 April, the Guild's website will become simpler, loose it's photographic record, and there will be advertisements on each page.
There is now a crowd funding widget to support the monthly payment of $8.50 USD. You will find the golden Contribute button on the right hand side of each Webpage. If you want to keep this website, please consider contributing toward the cost.
Dazar'alor Plans.
8. Stage 2 is coming, and if you're looking to raid with us next week, you will need to be a minimum of 370 ilvl for NORMAL and at least hold a Heart AP30.
The Problem?
What if you don't meet the item level of 370, with a neck requirement of lvl 30 or more?
The solution!
Each raider will be considered on a case-by-case basis, based upon raider's genuine participation and level of commitment. So, if you're already a core-raider, and pretty close to the minimum, you will need to chat to Emrald and Anen!
IA Council
Across the last half of 2018, one of our founding members decided to take a break from playing World of Warcraft.
The problem?
Due to Ranker enjoying his break from the game a little too much, we found ourselves needing a seventh Council Member. We recruited for a temporary replacement, Tiggerstripe, onto the IA Council.
The solution?
Tigger' is one of our Kiwi raiders, who takes all of our good-natured banter about Dropbears in her stride. Across the last quarter of 2018, we saw and heard more from Tigger than ever before! Tigger' was often found playing the game at all different hours and she set about helping everyone where and how ever she could! Who knew that the quiet and somewhat shy Tigger-cat was going to be so out and about!
In December, we made Tigger's appointment permanent!
THANKS Ranker!
The IA Council wish to thank Ranker for his MANY years of faithful service as a founding member and on through six years as a Council Member and wish him every success in his new adventures - where ever they lead. We will look forward to being able to play this game with him in the future.
Thanks to everyone for making IA a great Guild to be in!
I am certain that 2019 is going to be even better!
